In 1913, a travertine memorial was created with a support of Latvian people, depicting Ādolfs Alunāns in the bas-relief created by the sculptor Burkards Dzenis.
The monument is devoted to the founder of the Latvian theatre, Ādolfs Alunāns, was was buried in Alunāns park, the former Jāņa cemetery.
