Individual thematic route Places of Freedom battles

The route goes along the memorial sites of the Freedom battles in Jelgava and its surroundings, where the Freedom battles took place in the first half of the last century in order to free our country from the Bermont and Avalov’s troops.

The route was created in cooperation with the historian Andris Tomasuns and introduces the witnesses of the Freedom battles – monuments, memorials and resting places.

It is recommended to start the route from the tower of Jelgava Church of the Holy Trinity at Akademijas iela 1, Jelgava, where you can get a free route map. The total length of the route is 77 km and it goes along both asphalt and gravel roads.
