The six-metre-high sculpture is the joint work of two experienced artists and international award winners, a Lithuanian artist Donatas Mockus, and a Latvian – Inese Valtere. A tonne of different materials – metal, rods, angles, rebar and stainless steel – were used to create the sculpture. The metal moose is less than 6 metres tall, 1.70 metres wide at its widest point and 2.30 metres long.
The metal moose was inspired by the symbol of Jelgava – the moose – which adorns the coat of arms of Jelgava.
